TenCate announces that its major manufacturing facilities, Thiolon Middle East in Dubai and Polyloom in Dayton TN, have both achieved a 98% waste diversion rate. This is the highest level reached by a TenCate company to date, achieving UL Solutions' Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWtL) Gold Validation.

This milestone reflects TenCate's ongoing commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its manufacturing operations.

Reaching this level of waste diversion performance required a strong focus on reducing environmental impacts from the ground up. Both facilities adopted improved manufacturing processes, invested in upgrades to existing infrastructure, and launched comprehensive waste reduction programmes. Key to this success were employee training initiatives and awareness campaigns, which enabled teams to minimise landfill and incineration-based waste management, while focusing on recycling, reuse, and circular material flows.

Using UL Solutions' Environmental Claim Validation Program, TenCate plans to validate all its manufacturing facilities in Europe, the US, and the Middle East under the UL 2799 Zero Waste to Landfill standard. The UL 2799 protocol requires companies to track all waste streams, ensure full regulatory compliance, and demonstrate that waste is recycled or converted into usable energy. Small quantities, less than 10%, may be disposed of, only with full traceability and environmental safeguards.

Reducing waste, increasing resource efficiency, and conserving natural resources are central elements of TenCate's operational strategy. The pursuit of Zero Waste to Landfill validation supports TenCate's efforts to contribute to circular material flows across its manufacturing operations.
