Pivot® Expands Across North America Less Than a Year After Launch

Less than a year after its introduction in the United States, Pivot® has been installed in 30 states and Canada, making it one of the fastest adopted turf systems in TenCate's history.

Designed Around the Athlete

Developed at the Center for Turf Innovation (CTI), Pivot was created to address a challenge that has shaped synthetic turf development for decades: how to create a surface that delivers the playing characteristics athletes expect while reducing the complexity traditionally associated with infilled systems.

Researchers combined laboratory testing, biomechanical analysis, and athlete feedback to better understand how players interact with the surface during acceleration, deceleration, cutting, and directional change. Those insights helped shape a system designed to deliver a playing experience that feels familiar to athletes transitioning from natural grass.

Performance Without Performance Infill

Pivot takes a different approach from conventional turf systems. Rather than relying on rubber or alternative infill materials to influence surface behavior, Pivot's performance characteristics are built directly into the turf structure itself. The result is a fiber-filled system that requires no performance infill while maintaining the consistency and durability required for intensive sports use.

Simplifying Field Ownership

As installations have increased across North America, facility owners have embraced Pivot for more than its on-field performance.

The absence of performance infill simplifies maintenance, eliminates infill redistribution, and reduces the materials required during installation. Facilities benefit from a system designed for long-term performance while reducing the operational demands typically associated with infilled turf systems.

A Changing Market

The rapid adoption of Pivot reflects a broader shift in the industry. Schools, municipalities, and sports organizations are increasingly looking for turf systems that combine performance, durability, and ease of maintenance without compromising field availability. Demand is moving beyond traditional product comparisons and toward solutions that help facilities maximize playing time while simplifying long-term management.

Growing Across North America

From community sports fields and school campuses to larger athletic facilities, Pivot is now supporting sport and recreation in a growing number of locations across North America.
With new installations continuing every month, the early momentum behind Pivot highlights growing interest in a different approach to synthetic turf design, one built around athlete experience, simplified maintenance, and long-term performance.
